Implants have helped improve the quality of life of patients by restoring natural function for both fixed or removable prosthesis. Today we can offer different treatment options for fully or partially edentulous patients such as complete dentures, implant-supported overdentures, and implant-supported fixed restorations. This course will cover fundaments and factors affecting the success rate of dental implants such as selection of implant type, prostheses, abutments for both removable and fixed implant placement. It also details the entire treatment planning sequence starting with diagnosis, the 3D design and planning, progressing to and final placement of implants with 3D surgical guides.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the dental professional should be able to:- Understand the indications, contraindications, advantages and disadvantages of implant selection based on implant types
- Choose optimal prostheses for the patient based on all relevant factors.
- Understand de Digital workflow for implant planning, using CBCT, digital scanner , implant planning software, and 3D surgical guides.
- Soft tissue development
- Understand the entire treatment rationale beginning with implant planning to implant placement based on both the anatomic and prosthetic determinants using CBCT, implant planning software, and 3D surgical guides.
- Review and discuss new oral implant treatment trends, new product developments and modalities
- Examine and apply suturing and bone grafting techniques
